Ghanaian musician Sefa has officially confirmed her departure from Black Avenue Muzik, the record label owned by rapper and entrepreneur D-Black.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Sefa revealed that her contract with the label had ended some time ago, and she decided to move on due to some business misunderstandings.

Sefa emphasised that while there were some issues, she still considers Black Avenue Musik as family.

“When you’re working with people you consider family, it’s always a roller coaster. There have been some business misunderstandings, but Black Avenue Musik has always been family,” she said.

Now an independent artiste, Sefa is focusing on her solo career and recently released new music. She expressed her openness to signing with new record labels, depending on the deal.

“I’m very hardworking, dedicated, and self-motivated. I’m open to work,” she stated.

Despite leaving the label, Sefa clarified that she retains the rights to her songs and can continue to perform them.

Sefadzi Abena Amesu, better known by her stage name Sefa, is a Ghanaian afro-pop/afrobeats singer and songwriter.

In 2017, she was signed by Black Avenue Muzik and won the Afrobeats Song of the Year award during the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards with her song titled ‘E Choke.’
