Ghanaian playwright and entertainment personality, George Quaye, has expressed his dissatisfaction with Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture-designate, John Dumelo, for not ‘educating’ Habib Iddrisu, the MP of Tolon, during his ministerial vetting.
In an interview on Hitz FM on February 26, 2025, George Quaye noted that John Dumelo should have corrected the MP after he cautioned him against taking his political career lightly, emphasising that his role was not within the movie industry.
“I was quite a bit disappointed in my brother John Dumelo for not calling it out right there. But I would not fault him because he was at his vetting and didn’t want to sound rude,” he said.
George Quaye added that he would have corrected Habib Iddrisu if he were in the shoes of John Dumelo.
“If it were me, George Quaye, I would have used this as a perfect opportunity to make a statement for a sector that made me before agric sector discovered me,” he added.
