Hunnyboy is a uprising Ghanaian musician

In an interview on Hitz FM and shared on social media on August 6th, 2025, Ablekuma-based up-and-rising artiste Hunnyboy disclosed how attempts to get in touch with Shatta Wale, six months after releasing his song, proved futile.

Hunnyboy said he wasn’t using Tiktok then because he only had a few followers, “I only had 200 followers on Tiktok back then, and my posts were not going far so I stopped using it” but that particular day his friend encouraged him to post his video anyway, which he did and captioned it “imagine Shatta Wale on this ” without giving it much thought.

The artiste said he woke up the next day, however, with a comment under his post from Shatta Wale. His excitement was further expanded when Shatta Wale asked him to contact his PRO, Sammy Flex, so they could get some work done.

Hunnyboy further explained that getting in touch with Sammy Flex wasn’t easy because he (Sammy Flex) was busy, and he (Hunnyboy) couldn’t.

The artiste recounts that Shatta Wale himself later contacted him to send the beat. And not long after that, Shatta reordered his verse onto the beat and sent it back to him on his (Shatta Wale) personal WhatsApp number. It didn’t end there; Shatta also made himself available for the music video.

Hunnyboy said the song “winning” was a manifestation, “I wrote and recorded winning even when I had nothing going on, it’s one thing to say you’re winning when you have something going on, and it’s another thing when there’s nothing but you still believe you’re winning. That was the kind of situation to which I wrote winning”.

The artiste believes he manifested and it became a reality, and now he has thousands of followers on TikTok.
