Ghanaian-born English forward Callum Hudson-Odoi has been left out of the England squad for the upcoming international break.

In an earlier interview with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, Hudson-Odoi expressed hope for a call-up to England’s squad for the March fixtures. However, he was omitted from the squad announced on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Hudson-Odoi previously stated that a return to the Three Lions was possible if he maintained his current form.

“I’m taking it game by game. No matter what happens, whether I get picked or not, I just have to keep performing and stay consistent. That will take care of itself,” he told Rio Ferdinand on TNT Sports.

“Just taking it one game at a time, and you never know what might happen,” he added.

The 24-year-old last played for England in 2019 at the age of 19.

His omission means he remains eligible to play for Ghana, a possibility that has been on the radar since 2022.

He became eligible to switch nationality after playing fewer than three competitive matches for England before turning 21.

Hudson-Odoi has been one of Nottingham Forest’s standout players this season, playing a key role in their push for European football.

He has scored five goals and provided two assists, including match-winning strikes against Liverpool and Manchester City.
