Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson is the next filmmaker to lash out at a Ghanaian-based television station on social media.

She took to the internet to express her dissatisfaction after the TV station, Blazing TV, aired her latest movie, The Firstborn, which premiered on Thursday, July 18, 2025.

Addressing her frustration on her Facebook page, the actress criticized the television station for airing her movie without her consent.

She noticed that a fan took a photo as the television network that aired the movie on their channel downloaded it from her YouTube channel.

Mercy Johnson questioned why a media house would air her newly released movie without permission.

In a post the social media post, she wrote, “GHANA BLAZING TV. How is this even ok? BLAZING TV in Ghana is showing my movie THE FIRSTBORN on their TV without my consent. How does this even make sense? How?”
