Actor and businessman, Kwaku Manu, has recounted how he and a few others have supported Hiplife artiste Okomfour Kwadee, who has since been battling mental health challenges.
In an interview with ZionFelix, Kwaku Manu mentioned that Kwadee’s support system began years ago with a woman named Abena Manu, who runs the rehab centre where Kwadee used to stay.
According to him, when the musician went off the “grid” years ago and his whereabouts were unknown, he was with Abena Manu undergoing treatment before making a return to the music scene at a point.
Kwaku Manu added that when Kwadee relapsed after his comeback, he remained in contact with Abena Manu to figure out how best to help.
The actor noted that although there were earlier incidents involving Kwadee that brought embarrassment to the woman, initially she did not want to help again but eventually softened because she genuinely cared for the artiste.
He said some elders later intervened and took Kwadee back to her for further rehabilitation.
Kwaku Manu explained that his role during the process was mostly financial, helping with the artiste’s basic needs.

“At the end of each month, I would send some money to the woman so she could buy food and essentials for Kwadee, and that alone made me feel fulfilled,” he said.
He also stated that during conversations with Abena Manu, it became clear Kwadee needed a place of his own, preferably close to the rehab, to allow him to visit easily and interact with friends in the neighbourhood to keep his mind active.
Kwaku Manu disclosed that he provided GH¢20,000 to secure the new house for Kwadee. He said, fortunately, when it was time to furnish it, things began to fall into place.
Kwadee secured a show in Kumasi and later performed at singer Sista Afia’s 10-year celebration in the music industry on January 3, 2026, which helped him earn additional funds.
“When the house matter came up, I had to find about GH¢20,000 for her to secure the place for Kwadee. When it was time to furnish the house, things worked out. He got a show in Kumasi, and he also performed at Sista Afia’s 10-year celebration in Koforidua. The CEO of Joy Daddy also supported him financially,” he added.
