Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale, has opened up about how his arrest last year negatively impacted his business.

In a Facebook post shared on February 24, 2026, Shatta Wale revealed that the controversy surrounding his arrest and the seizure of his yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) caused him to lose a major investor.

According to the “God Is Here” hitmaker, an investor who was on the verge of investing in his Shaxi business pulled out at the last minute due to the controversy.

“Because of a common Lambo, I lost a big investor for Shaxi… Hmmm… Herrrhh… Ghana erh, but we move. #GODISHERE,” he wrote.

    Controversy surrounding Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini

On August 5, 2025, EOCO seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale’s residence.

According to a press release issued by EOCO and signed by its Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, the seizure followed an operation conducted in June 2025 in response to a 2023 request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.

The operation, carried out by EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), led to the discovery and confiscation of the 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which the FBI and the Justice Department linked to proceeds from the criminal activities of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is serving an 86-month prison sentence in the United States for multiple financial crimes.

    EOCO detains Shatta Wale

EOCO stated that Shatta Wale was unable to provide proof of ownership or evidence that he legally purchased the Lamborghini.

In a statement issued on August 21, 2025, EOCO further indicated that during questioning, the dancehall artiste could not identify the individual from whom he allegedly purchased the vehicle.

According to EOCO, Shatta Wale claimed the seller contacted him via WhatsApp, but he no longer has the person’s contact information.
