Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Frederick Acheampong, has raised concerns about how the Ghana Police Service are investigating the death of Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley.

He questioned the police on how Daniel Febiri, also known as Braima, the prime suspect in Pooley’s murder, managed to escape to Senegal.

The GFA Exco member expressed frustration about how the police were unable to locate Braima while he was hiding at his girlfriend’s place for almost two weeks.

Speaking in an interview with Kessben FM, Acheampong called on the police and other investigative bodies to be proactive in ensuring the prime suspect is dealt with if found guilty.

“Reports indicate that the girlfriend concealed the prime suspect between February 4 and 17, yet the police did not get a hint. I am surprised because the police are looking for him, yet the girlfriend hid him for that long. It’s a major concern. If someone becomes a prime suspect, everything about them becomes of interest.

“I’m wondering how he hid in the girlfriend’s room for two weeks without being noticed. Now that the police are closing in by arresting the girlfriend, they need to double their efforts to arrest the prime suspect,” he said in Twi.

This comes after an update provided by Kotoko indicated that the suspect, Braima, fled to Senegal with the help of his girlfriend, Grace Siaw.

According to reports, he was hidden from the police by his girlfriend between February 4 and 17, 2025.

However, Braima’s girlfriend has been arrested by the police for interrogation.

Pooley’s funeral is scheduled for March 6, 2025.
