Social media erupted after a video surfaced showing a confrontation between up-and-coming hip-hop artist Mandy Maz Naz and entertainment pundit Sally Mann.

In the video, Sally Mann, during a discussion on Accra-based Radio XYZ, had criticised one of Mandy’s songs, calling it “not good,” which prompted a strong reaction from the artist.

Mandy Maz Naz questioned Mann’s qualifications to critique her work, pointing out that Mann lacks a music background.

“Sally doesn’t have any music background. What are her creative qualifications? I want to understand.

“If you are naturally creative and have an educational background, and if you listen to certain types of music or are exposed to certain genres, you will understand what this music is about,” Mandy argued.

She accused Mann of being hypocritical and ignorant, stating that Mann’s critique was not constructive, but rather judgmental.

“Even if you’re making a statement, you have to be constructive. She wasn’t constructive. So it’s more like a judgment,” Mandy added.

Despite her strong words, Mandy claimed that she accepts criticism and appreciates Sally Mann’s energy.

However, she cautioned Mann to be careful with her critiques, suggesting that Mann lacks the necessary knowledge to properly evaluate her work.

“I accept the criticisms. I actually embrace it. I want to hear it. I love Sally. You know, I love her energy and everything. But that’s what I’m saying. Sally, be careful because she doesn’t have the knowledge to critique my work,” she added.
