Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found in a home.
NSW Police attended a home on McNamara Ave in South Grafton, northeast NSW, just before midday on Sunday.
It’s understood officers were responding to a welfare check.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the woman but she could not be saved.
Another person, possibly the woman’s partner, was taken from the scene to hospital.
NSW Police said in a statement: ‘Following the discovery, detectives from Coffs/Clarence Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
‘A crime scene has been established, which is being examined by specialist police.
‘The woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, is yet to be formally identified and a postmortem examination will determine the exact cause of death.’
