Unbeaten super light prospect Hiroki Horiike (8-0, 5 KOs; amateur 21-7, 5 KO/RSCs), 140, impressively chalked up a TKO victory over Filipino challenger Raymond Yanong (18-11-1, 12 KOs), 139.75, at 1:50 of the first round to make his initial defense of the OPBF 140-pound belt on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan. Having captured the regional belt from Joo-Young Kim in Korea this January, Horiike demonstrated a very good form in dispatching the more experienced Filipino, dropping him twice in succession. Horiike, handled by former OPBF lightweight champ Ichitaro Ishii, is worth watching. After his quick triumph he earnestly asked for a regional unification bout with WBO AP ruler Kuntae Lee in the near future.
