German Bundesliga clubs TSG Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart have reportedly entered the race to sign England-born Ghanaian winger Cameron Ashia ahead of the new season.
The highly-rated 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in the English lower divisions following an impressive campaign with Huddersfield Town in League One.
Ashia’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, placing several European clubs on alert as they look to secure his signature on a free transfer. Hoffenheim and Stuttgart are understood to be among the clubs showing strong interest in the winger as they seek to strengthen their squads for the upcoming campaign.
Scottish giants Celtic FC and Rangers FC are also monitoring the youngster, alongside English clubs Fulham FC, Burnley FC, Ipswich Town, Southampton FC and Sheffield United.
Ashia enjoyed a breakthrough season at Huddersfield, scoring six goals and registering three assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. Born in England to Ghanaian parents, the winger remains eligible to represent Ghana national football team despite featuring for England at youth level.
