Women’s Ring Magazine and WBO Super Flyweight Champion Mizuki ‘MIMI’ Hiruta was honored on Thursday afternoon at the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles. Taking a break from her local training, Hiruta was greeted by Consul General Kosei Murota.
“It was a great honor to meet with Consulate General Kosei Murota,” said Hiruta. “He is very supportive of my career and I look forward to welcoming him to a future fight. It was a perfect way to take a short break from the training for my title defense on November 22.”
Said Tom Loeffler, President of 360 Promotions; “It’s great to see the support that Ring Magazine and WBO World Champion Mizuki Hiruta has received from the Japanese fans in the United States and in her home country of Japan. Mizuki hails from the same home town, Okayama, as World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto comes from. Clearly something special there to produce World Champion athletes. It’s perfect timing for Mizuki to make her 6th World Title defense in Los Angeles right after the Dodgers won the World Series for the second time in a row.”
Ranked #1 in the Super Flyweight Division by ESPN, Hiruta (9-0, 2 KOs), of Okayama, Japan will make the sixth defense of her WBO World Title against #2 Ranked Gloria ‘Depredadora’ Gallardo, (16-3-3, 7 KOs), of Rosarita, Baja California, Mexico in the ten-round main event on Saturday, November 22 at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, CA.
The upcoming fight marks Hiruta’s fourth world title defense of 2025, greater than any other female champion with a victory placing her at the top of the ‘Female Boxer of the Year’ list.

The colorful and charismatic Mizuki Hiruta kicked off her 2025 campaign with an eighth-round stoppage of Maribel Ramirez on January 17 in Los Angeles accompanied by her growing legion of supporters and preceded by her renowned show-stopping ring walks. Following up on May 17, the southpaw demonstrated all of her world class skills and toughness in a dominant ten-round unanimous decision over Carla Merino. Most recently, the 29-year-old won a shutout ten-round unanimous decision over Naomy Cardenas Gomez on August 15.
The 30-year-old Gallardo, with only one loss since 2019, challenges for her first world title following a first-round knockout of Maria de Lourdes Garcia on March 15, 2015. Although world traveled, this will be her first fight in the United States.
