Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Casemiro will leave the club when his contract expires this summer, bringing an end to his four-year spell at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old Brazilian, who joined United from Real Madrid in 2022, informed the club of his decision. The Red Devils issued an official statement on Thursday, January 22, 2026, acknowledging his departure.

Supporters will have the opportunity to show their appreciation during United’s final home game of the season against Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the club’s website, Casemiro expressed gratitude for his time in Manchester and reaffirmed his commitment for the remainder of the campaign.

“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life. From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club succeed,” he said.

Casemiro also shared an emotional farewell message on social media, describing the next four months as his final chapter at Old Trafford and expressing “eternal respect and affection” for the club and its fans.

Since arriving for a reported £60 million fee, the five-time Champions League winner has made 146 appearances for United, scoring key goals and helping the club lift both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

His experience and leadership played a crucial role during Erik ten Hag’s early tenure, leaving a lasting mark on United’s midfield.
