Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has shared his thoughts on whether he would consider settling down again following the passing of his wife, the late former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor.
In an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay), aired on December 6, 2025, the former president was asked if he would remarry. In response, he noted that he would think about it.
In a subtle and jovial manner, the former president threw the question back at Delay, asking whether she is willing to propose to him.
The story of when John Kufuor realised he was in love with Theresa
According to Kufuor, despite his age, he remains a loving man who enjoys being around people.
“She died two years ago. Are you proposing to me? You are beautiful, but I’m asking if you are proposing. At my age, I love people, and socially, I stay involved.
“A wise man once told me to just keep going. If you reach a certain age and give up, that’s when you die. So, I try to keep going… If you propose, I might think about it,” he said.
When Kufuor lost his wife:

She passed away at the age of 87 after a brief illness.

The late former First Lady was a retired nurse and midwife who married Kufuor on September 8, 1962.
Kufuor once revealed that he married Theresa a year after they met.
In an interview on Adom TV, he disclosed that they first met each other at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in 1961 in London.
