Motorists should expect to pay slightly more for fuel in the first pricing window of February 2026, after prices went down in January.

Some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have started increasing prices, following industry forecasts of a 2% to over 5% rise in fuel costs.

Checks by GhanaWeb Business on February 2, 2026, show that Star Oil has already adjusted its prices. Petrol at Star Oil now sells at GH¢9.99 per litre, up slightly from GH¢9.97 in late January. Diesel prices at Star Oil, however, remain unchanged at GH¢10.95 per litre.

GOIL has also adjusted its prices under a special pricing strategy, matching the National Petroleum Authority’s (NPA) minimum price. At GOIL, petrol sells at GH¢9.99, while diesel goes for GH¢11.21 per litre.

Some smaller fuel stations have followed suit. Zen Petroleum is selling petrol at GH¢9.99 and diesel at GH¢11.21, while Glory Oil is selling petrol at GH¢9.99 per litre.

According to the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), the price increase is mainly due to the cedi losing value against the US dollar and a rise in global crude oil prices, which jumped from about $64 to nearly $70 per barrel within two days during the review period.
