Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has revealed why he is not vocal on the touchline at the stadium during games.

According to Otto Addo, he can shout but the players do not hear him at the stadium and that is why he needs leaders on the pitch who can help push their teammates during games.

He made this comment while answering questions on whether he missed the leadership of defender Alexander Djiku in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Comoros on matchday 7.

“In the stadium, I can’t shout, but they don’t hear me, so we need leaders on the pitch, who can also push the players, especially when the last minute arrives,” Otto Addo said.

Otto Addo keeps Alexander Djiku’s availability secret ahead of Mali clash

The Black Stars on Monday, September 8, 2025, will host the Eagles of Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium under the floodlights on matchday 8 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Mali lost the first leg 2-1 under former coach Eric Chelle on June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.
