Panama head coach, Thomas Christiansen

Panama head coach, Thomas Christiansen has described Ghana as a threat after drawing the Black Stars in Group L ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Thomas Christiansen, he faced Otto Addo as a player in the German Bundesliga and will be looking forward to their first meeting as coaches in the World Cup because he knows what Otto Addo is capable of doing.

“I faced him when I was a player in the Bundesliga, so I know him and know the quality that he had as a player and what he has brought to the team,” he told 3SPORTS in his first reaction to the draw.

He also added that his team needs to prepare vigorously for striker Inaki Williams because he will be one of the reliable players for the Black Stars at the World Cup.

“Of course also we have to think about Inaki Williams because he plays for Athletic Bilbao,” Christiansen added.

Panama have been drawn into Group L alongside Ghana, Croatia and the Three Lions of England.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
