The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams has announced the budget for Black Stars’ final two games in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will face Central African Republic on October 8 at the Stade El Abdi, in El Jadida, Morocco before hosting Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium for the final group game on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Kofi Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation, confirmed that the budget figures submitted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) fell within acceptable limits.

Read the statement below as the Minister gave the full breakdown of the budget for the games against Central Africa Republic and Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Sports minister officially inaugurates Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee

“Per the directive of H.E. the President to uphold transparency and accountability in the management of all our national teams, I engaged the media today on the Black Stars budget for Matchday 9 and 10 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association officially submitted its estimates on 18th September 2025, and the Ministry promptly forwarded it to the Office of the President on 19th September 2025. The process has been fully aligned with fiscal discipline, and approval is currently pending.

The total budget presented was $1.12 million, covering:

•Matchday 9 (Away vs Central African Republic in Casablanca): $733,000

•Matchday 10 (Home vs Comoros in Accra): $387,000

These figures cater for travel, accommodation, per diems, match bonuses, training logistics, officiating, and technical support.

I commend the Ghana Football Association for their collaborative spirit and alignment with the Ministry’s review. The government remains committed to resourcing the team and ensuring every Ghanaian player is respected and supported.

We will continue to build a culture of shared responsibility and performance. Let us all rally behind the Black Stars,” the statement from the Minister read.
