    Several regular Black Stars players have been omitted from the squad to face Japan and South Korea in upcoming international friendly matches.

    Leicester City attacker and team captain, Jordan Ayew is missing from the squad, with no reason yet given to the public for his absence.

    Thomas Partey of Villarreal in Spain is also among the players not included in the squad, amid concerns about his health status.

    Otto Addo announces Black Stars squad for Japan and Korea games

    Tottenham Hotspur winger, Kudus Mohammed is absent due to injury. He is currently recuperating and missed his side’s recent draw against Manchester United in the Premier League.

    Another major absentee is Olympique Lyonnais forward Ernest Nuamah, who has been sidelined as he continues his recovery from injury.

    LA Galaxy winger, Joseph Paintsil was not named in the squad for reasons known only to the technical team.

    AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu, who was part of the team that secured qualification to the World Cup is also missing from the squad.

    Earlier reports indicated that all these players withdrew due to recent injuries but there hasn’t been any official communication from the Black Stars technical team.

    Ghana will face Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup on Friday, November 14, at Toyota Stadium in Aichi, before taking on South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
