Christmas is not only about day parties and night time enjoyments, but the little magical moments can always be created with just your screens.
While the festive season and last-minute Christmas gift or ideas come to mind, a lot can be done with a little budget.
Christmas is the perfect excuse to slow down, relax, and enjoy quality screen time.
Whether you’re in the mood for laughter, romance, or action-packed entertainment, there’s no better time to curl up with loved ones, popcorn in hand, and a great movie on screen.
Here’s a curated list of 10 movies to watch this Christmas to bring joy, excitement and festive cheer:
1. A Royal Christmas Hope
Debuting on UPtv this year, this one is sweet and has a noble and selfless heroine, but there isn’t much else to it.
2. A Christmas Spark
Mario Lopez leads this one as a man who decides to upend his business career in order to train to become a fireman.
3. She’s making a list
The Hallmark Channel continues to expand its holiday content as Christmas draws nearer with this latest movie, She’s Making A List.
The rom-com sees bona fide Hallmark staples and former co-stars, Lacey Chabert and Andrew Walker, reunite to lead the way as a Naughty or Nice List inspector and the single father she gets too close to while on the job.
4. The Snow Must Go On
A former Broadway star agrees to direct his niece’s high school Christmas musical in the hopes of impressing an influential Broadway producer.
5. The Christmas Cup
Leaning into the silly is something The Christmas Cup does very well, but given its concept, which is friendly rivalry, you have to watch the film with this in mind; expect it and understand this is where it’s going to go.
Rhiannon Fish plays a returning Marine with an injury that may keep her from future active duty until a fireman and her family show her other possibilities.
6. A Christmas Murder Mystery
Vera Vexley is invited to spend the holidays with the Sterlings. She soon finds herself helming a murder investigation when someone is found dead on Christmas morning, putting her at odds with the quick-tempered and distraught family.
7. My Secret Santa
The Netflix’s new rom-com like Christmas debuts, but it does get points for (mostly) eliminating the how-dare-you drama in the final moments, plus lead star Alexandra Breckenridge has to get props for going all in on this role.
8. Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch
Based on the song by Kane Brown, this one is sweet though has a bit more emotion backing it given it deals with some loss.
Arielle Kebbel and Tyler Hilton in a Christmas movie again is just a delight.
9. Holiday Touchdown: A bills Love Story
The second collab Hallmark has had with NFL, this one is about a doctor and her childhood best friend, who now works on the new Bills stadium project, as they search for a secret Santa.
10. Christmas Checklist
This movie is about grief and the aftermath of that. It follows a woman grieving the loss of her mother and the healing she finds through a festive checklist from her mom.
This one has good acting and I like the co-stars. It’s also more about hope (despite the grief) and learning to live in that again.
