Hearts of Oak's plans derailed by transfer ban by GFA due to failure to pay some money owed to NEU Hearts of Oak’s plans derailed by transfer ban by GFA due to failure to pay some money owed to NEU

Hearts of Oak’s rebuilding plans have been derailed by a transfer ban imposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) due to the club’s failure to pay $70,000 owed to New Edubiase United (NEU) for the transfer of Salim Adams.

This development has hindered their efforts to bolster the squad ahead of the new season.

The Phobians, determined to recover from a lackluster 2024/25 season, unveiled plans to overhaul their team. The club introduced a new recruitment team and appointed a new technical bench led by Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, with management optimistic about making significant strides to compete for top honors domestically and continentally.

The Ghana Football Association’s ruling, due to Hearts of Oak’s failure to pay the final installment of Salim Adams’ transfer fee, has resulted in a transfer ban, preventing the club from registering new players, both locally and internationally, and casting doubt on the club’s financial management and compliance with transfer rules.

According to club insiders, Hearts of Oak had identified several target players and were in advanced talks, but the transfer ban has put these plans on hold, dealing a significant blow to coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s preparations for the upcoming season and potentially impacting the team’s competitiveness.

Hearts of Oak’s failure to quickly resolve the debt issue may cause them to miss out on key targets in the competitive transfer market, complicating their rebuilding plans and raising concerns about the club’s internal processes and financial management.

The club’s management must act fast to settle the debt and lift the transfer ban to avoid derailing their hopes for a successful season.
