Hearts of Oak delivered their most convincing performance of the season with an emphatic 3–0 victory over Eleven Wonders on Saturday at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

The win keeps Hearts firmly in the title conversation and lifts them to second place on the table, pending the outcome of Sunday’s fixtures. For Eleven Wonders, the result deepens their relegation worries as they remain rooted to the bottom of the standings and edge closer to a return to the Division One League.

Mawuli Wayo opened the scoring just eight minutes into the game with a moment of individual brilliance, weaving past multiple challenges before calmly finishing. Martin Karikari doubled the advantage in the 62nd minute after reacting quickest to bundle the ball home, before Kelvin Asibey sealed the result with a well-taken penalty.

Hearts of Oak entered the match with confidence after winning three of their previous four games and asserted control from the opening exchanges. Eleven Wonders struggled to cope with the Phobians’ tempo and attacking movement, as Hearts produced their sharpest offensive display of the campaign. At the back, they were equally impressive, recording a clean sheet in a dominant all-round showing.

They dominated possession with 53 percent and registered the most shots, 15, with 5 on target and three finding the back of the net to secure the three points.

Hearts of Oak now turn their attention to a clash with Bechem United, while Eleven Wonders will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture against Young Apostles.
