Accra Hearts of Oak have ended their winless streak with a narrow victory over Medeama on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

The Phobians edged Medeama 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Raphael Amponsah scoring the decisive goal to secure the win.

Amponsah gave the Rainbow club the lead in the 22nd minute with a stunning strike from 25 yards out. His goal proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Hearts recorded their first win in five games.

The victory also completes a league double over Medeama, following Hearts’ 2-0 win in the reverse fixture at the TNA Park.

Additionally, Hearts of Oak secured their first win back at their traditional home venue, the Accra Sports Stadium, and have climbed back into the top four.

They now trail league leaders Asante Kotoko by six points, having accumulated 40 points after 25 games.

Meanwhile, Medeama have dropped to seventh on the table with 38 points following the defeat.
