Hearts of Oak’s Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, says the club is working tirelessly to settle the $70,000 transfer dispute with New Edubiase.

Hearts of Oak has been handed a transfer ban due to a dispute with New Edubiase over a $70,000 transfer fee.

The club missed the final deadline to pay the amount, resulting in the ban.

The ban is in line with Article 15(1)(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, and was applied after Hearts of Oak missed the final deadline on May 31, 2025, to settle the amount.

Speaking on Asempa FM on Monday, June 23, 2025, Opare Addo confirmed the Ghana Football Association’s ruling while indicating that the club is working to get the issue resolved.

“This is an issue that is being resolved. I can say that when it is eventually resolved, New Edubiase will testify to it that it has been resolved.

“Who knows, in the next few minutes it could be resolved. When it is fully done, and you ask New Edubiase, they will also testify to it. The two parties are in constant touch to make sure it happens but everything you read from the GFA document is correct,” he said.

The Phobians are hoping to resolve the impasse quickly ahead of preparations for the upcoming football season.
