    The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, is expected to brief Parliament on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, regarding the resurgence of COVID-19 at the University of Ghana.

    This development follows a request by the Minority, urging the House to summon the Minister to provide an update on the situation.

    On Friday, June 29, 2025, the Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, expressed concern over the rising number of COVID-19 cases at the University of Ghana.

    “We don’t want to go through what the country experienced some time ago. Let’s make hay while the sun shines. I make this call in the presence of the respected Leader of the House — we need the Minister here now to do the needful,” he stated.

    The University of Ghana Health Services Directorate has reported a recent resurgence of COVID-19 on the Legon campus, urging students, staff, and visitors to exercise caution and strictly adhere to preventive protocols.
