Ernestina Fosu says she will not agree to the late Daddy Lumba being buried on December 13 Ernestina Fosu says she will not agree to the late Daddy Lumba being buried on December 13

Ernestina Fosu, the elder sister of the late Ghanaian Highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has rejected the new burial date set for the late musician.

Ernestina Fosu appeared in court today amid the ongoing legal tussle between the late Lumba’s first wife, Akosua Serwaa, and his mistress, Odo Broni.

In addition to the legal battle between the musician’s spouses, the family is also in court seeking a new burial date and an investigation into the cause of Daddy Lumba’s death.

Daddy Lumba’s family announces change in final funeral arrangements

In a video obtained by GhanaWeb on November 21, 2025, Ernestina Fosu, speaking to the media, stated that she will not agree to the family, particularly Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, holding the final burial on December 13, 2025.

According to her, she needs sufficient time to give her late brother a befitting farewell.

“Charles is not a fowl, so two weeks aren’t enough. Therefore, the funeral on December 13, 2025, will not take place… why are we rushing?” she said.
