Valentina Cervantes, the ex-fiancée of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, has said that she did not support their separation.
She indicated that their relationship was going smoothly without any challenges.
However, she was shocked when Fernandez requested that they separate so he could focus on himself and other aspects of his life.
Speaking in an interview with UK media outlet Daily Mail, Cervantes noted that although she did not agree with the request, she accepted it and wished him the best.
“Everything was fine, and suddenly one day he told me that he did not want to be together anymore. There are things that I still have to process, but that’s it. I accept it. Everyone takes it and goes through different processes; I tried to go for the healthier side. He is a person who accompanied me for many years, and I also accompanied him, and I will continue to accompany him.
“There could be weariness on his part, but it didn’t happen on my part. What he does from the day we separated onwards is his life. I am not going to get involved, and I am going to respect the woman he chooses to have at his side,” she said.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Fernandez told Cervantes he “feels the need to experience the stage he skipped by choosing family early on.”
Fernandez and Cervantes have two children and both of them agreed to co-parent despite the separation.
