A lawyer and filmmaker, Ayo Shonaiya educates Barrister Adeyanju on the need to curtail his clients Speed Darlington a.k.a Akpi and VeryDarkMan excesses on the internet.

Barrister Adeyanju and Akpi

The fifty-five-year-old law practitioner tweets a remark about the news of Afrobeat singer Burnaboy allegedly re-arresting Akpi over defamatory allegations.

Akpi had taunted Burnaboy over his relationship with American star, Diddy who was exposed for his shady affairs. Akpi had gone further to make content labeling Burnaboy a homosexual.

This made the singer arrest him but later released him when Akpi’s mother pleaded online for her son’s forgiveness.

However, rather for Akpi to desist, he travelled out and increased his slander against Burna who arrested him again as soon as he landed back in the country.

Barrister Adeyanju had then in favour of his client, accused the singer of illegal detention and oppression. It was to this effect Shonaiya schools him on schooling his client about the difference between freedom of speech and defamation of character.

His tweets says, “I believe Deji Adeyanju is confusing being a Lawyer with being an Activist. A Plaintiff taking legal action against someone who’s defaming him is NOT oppression or harassment. If your Client keeps doing the same thing he was arrested for in the first place, especially while out on Bail, he will get rearrested. Simple. His Clients don’t know the difference between defamatory statements and freedom of speech, and it’s looking like he also doesn’t 🤦🏾‍♂️”

The barrister is also the lawyer of VeryDarkMan who has an ongoing case with the Falana family over defamation of character.
