Convicted violent terrorist Abu Hamza will die in a supermax prison after he failed to escape his life sentence in a US jail and return to the streets of Britain.

Despite attempting to be released on compassionate grounds, a judge said the hate preacher and former London nightclub bouncer, 66, posed the greatest threat to the public he ever has.

Known in the US as Mostafa Mostafa, the hook-handed terrorist pleaded with Judge Justice Analisa Torresto release him from the allegedly poor conditions he claimed to be in, according to The Mirror.

The 66-year-old was convicted in 2015 in New York over his role in the 1998 kidnapping in Yemen of 16 tourists, of whom four died, and of conspiring to set up a militant training camp in Oregon, in 1999.

He was also found guilty of other terror charges including providing material support to Osama bin Laden’s network.

And his attempts to evade his prison sentence at Colorado‘s supermax, ADX Florence, took a significant blow after he was caught brainwashing jihad into his young granddaughter.

Hamza had reportedly written a 76-page complaint file about his prison’s conditions, and had his kids plead with the judge to release him as they said he is ‘one of the most intellectual and upright men you could come across’.

However, Judge Torresto said Hamza would remain in prison for the rest of his life as she was not convinced he’d had a ‘change of heart’ since his role in the deadly terror offences 27 years ago.

She also said Hamza would likely continue to ‘support and inspire others to acts of violence’ if released.

The rejection reportedly left the terrorist ‘furious’ and he has subsequently appealed it.

Hamza’s lawyers say staff at the supermax prison have neglected the 66-year-old in his solitary confinement, which they say does not meet the standards expected.

His legal team branded his room as ‘a modified large storeroom’, and said that it does not have the required natural light or a ‘proper toilet for his disabilities’.

The 66-year-old, who has diabetes, is said to have had his feet repeatedly bleed due to overgrown toenails and has ‘no assistance from anyone’.

In a statement to the lawyers, Hamza’s lawyers added: ‘As a result of the lack of accommodations and care, Mr Mostafa has lost almost all of his teeth, suffers from multiple infections, and has consistently been without the medical care considered reasonable to any civilized society.’

When he was sentenced to life ten years ago for the terrorism offences, his family all wrote to the Southern Court to boost his chances of returning to the UK.

Attempting to help his father’s appeal, his son, Imran Mostafa Kamel, said he was in ‘desperate need’ of his father’s ‘presence, love, and unwavering support’.

He added: ‘To witness his reunion with our precious grandchildren and to enjoy quality time together as a family would be a dream come true.’

Meanwhile his wife, Najat Chaffe, said: ‘Our family has been deeply distressed by his absence, as he has left an irreplaceable void that no one can fill.’

She added that her mental health had been significantly affected by her husband’s imprisonment, and that she ‘yearned’ to have him home to spend time with his family again.
