Head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, Frimpong Manso, has revealed the secret behind his team’s excellent form this season.

Gold Stars, currently occupying first place on the Ghana Premier League table, defeated the defending champions of the league FC Samartex in the FA Cup Round of 64 on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

The victory means Manso’s men have lost just one game all season and, with momentum on their side, look set to claim their first Premier League title.

In an interview with Happy FM after their FA Cup win, Manso attributed their success to the team’s commitment and discipline.

“There’s no secret. It’s just our hard work, and the boys are also determined. Their zeal to achieve something makes them adhere to whatever I tell them, and they are very disciplined. I believe these are the things contributing to our success,” he said.

With qualification to the Round of 32 secured and the team sitting at the top of the league table, Gold Stars have the opportunity to compete for all available trophies.

However, Manso emphasized that they are managing their expectations and believes his large squad will be a key factor.

“We’re trying to compete in both competitions, and depth is very important because we can’t use the same players all the time. Otherwise, some players might feel there’s no trust in them.

“We’ve not set a target on which trophy to win; we just want to compete and focus on the next game,” he further stated.

Gold Stars’ remarkable form this season has seen them beat giants like Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars, and Bechem United in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.

They face struggling Karela in their next game, aiming to cement their place at the top of the table.
