Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, a Parliamentary Aspirant has handed over a brand new Hilux 4X4 pickup vehicle to the New Patriotic Party Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Baantima Samba, for onward presentation to Executives of the party in the Savelugu constituency.
The MP hopeful has once again demonstrated her commitment to empower the governing party in the Savelugu constituency following several other infrastructure projects she has undertaken to transform the constituency and to boost the chance of the NPP to win back the seat in the 2024 general elections.
Madam Fatahiya made the presentation at a short ceremony in the private residence of the Regional Chairman in Tamale on Monday, August 28, 2023.
She told THE CUSTODIAN in an interview that the purpose of her generous gesture is to enhance the ability of the NPP to effectively manage and coordinate party activities in the constituency.
Ms. Fatahiya who works at the Office of the President reaffirmed her unwavering dedication to diligently serve the people of Savelugu when given the opportunity in the pending the parliamentary primaries and subsequently as the Member of Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Northern Regional Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Baantima Samba, after receiving the vehicle thanked Hajia Fatahiya for the gesture, describing the donation as a timely one that will facilitate the execution of party activities in the pursuit to recapture the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress.
He also lauded the aspirant for the numerous infrastructure development springing up in the Savelugu constituency through her lobby and the other pro-poor interventions to improve the socioeconomic livelihood of the constituents.
Chairman noted the governing New Patriotic Party is determined to break the 8 in the 2024 general elections, stating the regional executives are poised to make the region the powerhouse of the NPP by winning more Parliamentary seats.
The Savelugu Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Abdulai, together with his colleague executives were present to receive the vehicle.
He also thanked the aspirant for tooling the party to propel their chances of winning the seat in 2024.
He reiterated his absolute commitment and determination to win back the seat he once won for the NPP in 2016 when he first served as the Constituency Chairman, a position he lost in 2018 leading to the defeat of the NPP Member of Parliament in 2020.
