The weekend belonged to the thunder-strikers, players who turned ordinary moments into unforgettable highlights.
From Kumasi to Pretoria, Manchester to Milan, fans witnessed volleys, rockets, and moments of audacity that lit up the pitch and the headlines.
Hubert Gyau – The Baba Yara bolt
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko’s Hubert Gyau produced a moment of pure brilliance in their 4–2 win over Karela United.
With the game level at 1–1, Kotoko built from the back before Lord Amoah’s teasing cross found Peter Amidu, who cushioned it perfectly for Gyau.
Weekend Recap: Gyau’s screamer, Hearts of Oak’s rise and Salah’s record
Without hesitation, the midfielder unleashed a right-footed rocket from outside the box, a strike that screamed into the top corner and sent the stadium into delirium.
It was the kind of goal that flips momentum, the kind that earns replays and roars in equal measure.
Cemran Dansin – The Lucas Masterpieces wonder
In Pretoria, Orlando Pirates’ teenage sensation Cemran Dansin wrote his name into the weekend’s highlight reel.
Trailing 1–0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, Pirates won a corner.
The initial delivery was cleared, but not far enough; it dropped kindly to Dansin at the edge of the box.
Without letting it touch the ground, he struck it first time, unleashing a thunderous volley that screamed past the goalkeeper.
The Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium went silent for a split second, then erupted. For an 18-year-old to hit a ball like that was pure audacity.
The match ended 1–1, but Dansin’s volley was the kind of goal that would be replayed across Africa all week.

Amad Diallo – The City Ground screamer
In the Premier League, Amad Diallo joined the weekend’s thunder club with a stunning volley that rescued a point for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest.
With United searching desperately for an equalizer, they forced a corner, which Bryan Mbeumo whipped into the box.
After a brief scramble, the Forest defence managed to clear the ball but the looping clearance fell perfectly to Diallo at the edge of the box.
He met it first time, catching the ball sweetly on the volley, and sent it back into the net.
United drew 2–2, but the highlight was Diallo’s spectacular strike.
He shot from there because he’s Amad Diallo.

Piotr Zieliński
At the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, Inter Milan’s Piotr Zieliński joined the weekend’s list of long-range artists in a game of intelligence and flair.
From a corner, Hakan Çalhanoğlu appeared ready to float the ball into the box, but instead, he played it to Zieliński, waiting unmarked at the edge of the area.
In a blink, the Polish midfielder struck it first time, a laser-guided volley that zipped through the crowded box and into the back of the net. The Verona goalkeeper never stood a chance.
Inter went on to win 2–1 after a stoppage-time own goal from Martin Frese, but Zieliński’s finish was the real masterpiece of the evening.
