Ghanaian Afro-fusion sensation Gyakie is in the trends, as her latest projects have earned multiple Grammy Award considerations across several major categories.

According to information available to GhanaWeb Entertainment, Gyakie’s “After Midnight” project has been submitted for consideration in the Best Global Music Album category, while her critically acclaimed single “Sankofa” has received nods for both Best Global Music Performance and Best Music Video.

In addition, her collaboration with American R&B star 6LACK on “Damn U” has been listed for consideration in the newly introduced Best African Performance category.

This development comes at a time when Ghanaian music is experiencing unprecedented global recognition.

The news of Gyakie’s multiple considerations follows closely on the heels of artistes like Shatta Wale, Kwaw Kese and Epixode, who also have their songs up for consideration for the Best African Music Performance category.

So far, submissions are currently in the consideration phase, meaning they are being reviewed by Grammy voters to determine official nominations.

The official nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards are scheduled to be announced on November 7, 2025.
