Ghanaian Afro-fusion sensation Gyakie has revealed her deep admiration for R2Bees rapper Omar Sterling, declaring him her all-time favourite Ghanaian rapper.

In a recent interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, the “Forever” hitmaker lauded Omar Sterling, also known as Paedae, for his poetic prowess and unique storytelling ability in his music.

“My favourite rapper in Ghana now is Omar Sterling of R2Bees. He’s always been. Yes, he’s my all-time favourite Ghanaian rapper,” Gyakie said.

The rising star praised Omar Sterling for going beyond the ordinary in his lyrical delivery.

“Omar Sterling is a poet. I always say that his rap is always different.

The storytelling—he shares stories about his life or things happening in real time, and the way he puts the lyrics together helps the listener understand what he is saying. That always makes me very happy.

I think he’s a very good writer and storyteller,” she added.

Though Gyakie is not known for rap, she shared that her love for the genre occasionally influences her music. She described her sound as eclectic, blending various influences from the diverse genres she was exposed to growing up.

Currently, Gyakie is promoting her latest single ‘Sankofa’, which offers fans a taste of what to expect from her highly anticipated debut album, ‘After Midnight’.

With a string of hits and a growing global fanbase, Gyakie continues to cement her place as one of Ghana’s most dynamic musical talents, unafraid to draw inspiration from across the creative spectrum.
