Ghanaian music executive, Nii Noi, has called on the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to intensify stakeholder engagement to address recurring price hikes and related challenges associated with the ‘December in Ghana’ festivities.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on January 12, 2026, Nii Noi stated that the GTA should not wait until December to take action, describing the issue as critical and one that requires immediate attention.
“I think the Ghana Tourism Authority must do a lot of stakeholder engagement. You don’t have to wait till December. I think we have to start from now and it’s a very huge issue that they don’t have to sleep on,” he said.
According to him, recent concerns involving foreign artistes, price controls and other logistical challenges highlight the need for proactive planning.
“Now that they’ve seen a lot of stuff going on with foreign artistes, price control and other issues. They need to sit down and look for solutions to address these problems,” he shared.

Nii Noi emphasised the importance of engaging owners and leaders of major pubs and hospitality establishments ahead of the festive season.
“Most of the big pubs that we are talking about have meetings with the leaders or the owners themselves. Let’s have this discussion and let them understand why December in Ghana is important,” he noted.
He further said that many of these establishments did not directly contribute to attracting the influx of tourists but are benefiting from the ecosystem created by the initiative.
“Let them understand they did nothing to bring these people in, it’s all other forces they don’t know. It’s because they’re in the ecosystem so they have to benefit from it,” Nii Noi added.
