Former MTN FA Cup champions, Accra Great Olympics, have been drawn against WAFA SC in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 edition of the competition.
The draw held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Secretariat yesterday pitched the two former Premier League clubs against each other as the headline clash at that level.
The clubs were zoned regionally and based on proximity, thereby creating a number local derbies.
The preliminary round games will be played on October 25-28, with the winners being joined by the 18 Premier League Clubs for the Round of 64.
In all, 110 clubs are taking part in the competition, 18 of which are Premier League clubs, 48 Division One League clubs, and 44 Division Two Clubs from the Regional Football Associations.

According to the organiser, the round of 64 games will take place between November 29 to December 2 with the round of 32 and round 16 taking place between January 10 to 13 and February 21 to 24, 2025.
The quarter and semi-finals will be held between March 28 to 31 and May 9 to 12 with the finals scheduled for June 15.
A minute silence for the late Seth Kofi Poku, who until his demise weeks ago and was the vice chairman of the MTN FA Cup committee, was observed at the draw.
