    Former MTN FA Cup champions, Ac­cra Great Olympics, have been drawn against WAFA SC in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 edition of the competition.

    The draw held at the Gha­na Football Association (GFA) Secretariat yesterday pitched the two former Premier League clubs against each other as the headline clash at that level.

    The clubs were zoned regional­ly and based on proximity, thereby creating a number local derbies.

    The preliminary round games will be played on October 25-28, with the winners being joined by the 18 Premier League Clubs for the Round of 64.

     In all, 110 clubs are taking part in the competition, 18 of which are Premier League clubs, 48 Division One League clubs, and 44 Division Two Clubs from the Regional Football Associations.

    Below are the preliminary round fixtures in full:

    Golden Warriors v Ok­wawu United, Nania FC v Kings Palace, Hohoe United v Kotoku Shining Stars, Emmanuel City FC v Home Stars FC, Lokoe Dia­mond FC v African Talents FC, Kwahu Rangers v True Democra­cy, Danbort FC v Newtown Youth FC, Golden Kicks FC v Kotoku Royals, Rain Masters v Okor Nowomi, Dynamo FC v Immi­gration FC, Agbozume Weavers v Akatsi All Stars, Inter Allies v Na God FC, Koforidua Semper FI v Kaistorms FC,

    Port City FC v Attram De Visser, GAP Soccer Academy v Freinhoff Academy,

    And Givova Sports Academy v Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs.

    Others are Soccer Intellec­tual v Sekondi Rospak FC, Skyy FC v UCC Youngsters, Nzema Kotoko FC v Fettehman United, BIS Paradise v Sekondi Eleven Wise, Nsuopun Fidelity v Zico Professionals, Acceler8z FC v Ku­masi Corner Stone, Future Stars v Kumasi Academicals FC,

    Swedru All Blacks v Elmina Sharks FC, Ebony FC v Sefwi All Stars, New Edubiase United v Asekem FC, Betinase Stars v Bekwai Heroes FC, King Faisal FC v Adjoafuaman FC, and Asokwa Deportivo v Breman United.

    The rest are Northern City v RTU, Kumbungu Bibeim v Real 24 Hours, Tamale City v Tama­le Soccer Angels, Boresa FC v Toende United, TF Exponential FC v Yapei FC, Wale Wale Cath­olic Stars v Wa Power, Real Bolga United v Wa Sore Nante, Navron­go Mission Warriors v Malima FC, Kintampo Top Talent v K.A.C Soccer Academy, Bofoakwa Tano v Twimia Cities, Techiman Eleven Wonders v Nsoatre FC, Techiman Liberty Youth v Bectero Sasana FC, Debibi United v Dormaa Nkyenkyenkye, PAC Academy v Wamanafo Mighty Royals, Dor­maa Unity v Union Rovers FC and Techiman Heroes v Victory Club Warriors.

    According to the organiser, the round of 64 games will take place between November 29 to Decem­ber 2 with the round of 32 and round 16 taking place between January 10 to 13 and February 21 to 24, 2025.

    The quarter and semi-finals will be held between March 28 to 31 and May 9 to 12 with the finals scheduled for June 15.

    A minute silence for the late Seth Kofi Poku, who until his demise weeks ago and was the vice chairman of the MTN FA Cup committee, was observed at the draw.
