Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur, born Emmanuel Danso Arthur, has officially been dragged to court by his former record label Ground Up Chale Ltd and its CEO Glen Boateng, following the intense public fallout between the two parties.

A writ of summons sighted online and now circulating on social media shows that the case was filed at the High Court of Justice, Accra, under the Superior Court of Judicature, with the suit issued on January 27, 2026.

According to the court document, Glen Boateng and Ground Up Chale Ltd are listed as Plaintiffs, while Emmanuel Danso Arthur, alias Kwesi Arthur, is named as the Defendant in the suit.

The writ commands Kwesi Arthur to enter an appearance within eight (8) days after being served, warning that failure to do so could result in judgment being given in his absence without further notice.

Although the details of the reliefs being sought are not outlined in what was seen online, the legal action comes on the back of Kwesi Arthur’s recent explosive social media allegations, where he accused his former label of unfair treatment, financial exploitation, and attempting to control his image and music catalog even after their professional relationship ended.

Ground Up Chale and Glen Boateng have since denied the allegations, insisting that they acted within the confines of their contractual rights and describing some of the musician’s claims as false and damaging to their reputation.

As it stands now, one can only wait to see how things will unfold in court.
