Former Premier League side Accra Great Olympics suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to promotion-chasing Semper Fi FC at the Teshie McDan Sports Complex on Saturday, as their struggles continued in the ongoing campaign.

Despite a determined display, Great Olympics were undone by a moment of brilliance in the 20th minute when Emmanuel Adjei Laryea unleashed a stunning strike that ultimately separated the two sides. Olympics pushed for an equaliser and showed flashes of their top-flight pedigree, but were unable to break down a disciplined Semper Fi defence.

The defeat leaves Great Olympics with work to do as they seek to regain momentum and climb the table, while Semper Fi strengthened their push for the summit. The victory moves Semper Fi to 39 points from 21 matches, just four behind the leaders, intensifying the pressure at the top of the standings.
