Two players sit at the summit of the Ghana Premier League top-scorers chart currently; Bechem United forward Augustine Okrah and Bibiani GoldStars striker Samuel Attah Kumi, who are both tied up on nine goals each.

Okrah, moved level at the top after scoring twice for Bechem United in their narrow 3-2 defeat to Vision FC on Saturday, February 21.

Despite his side’s loss, the experienced attacker once again proved his efficiency in front of goal, carrying over his strong form from the first half of the campaign.

Attah Kumi, meanwhile, also maintained his scoring form by finding the back of the net in GoldStars’ comfortable 3-0 home victory over Basake Holy Stars last week.

The forward’s consistency has been key to his side’s attacking output, making him one of the standout performers of the season so far and was strongly linked with a move to giants Asante Kotoko.

With both players now level on nine goals, all eyes turn to today’s fixture, where Samuel Attah Kumi will be hoping to edge ahead in the race when GoldStars play as guests to Heart of Lions at 15:00GMT at the Kpando Stadium.

As the league enters into a decisive moments in terms of the top four, relegation battle and goalking race, the contest between Okrah and Attah Kumi promises to add extra excitement to the remaining fixtures. With momentum on their side, the race for the Golden Boot is far from settled and every match from here on could prove decisive.
