Fallen Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak made light works of Ghana Premier League strugglers Eleven Wonders after handing down a hefty 3-0 defeat to the bottom-placed side on Saturday at the Legon Sports Compex.
Mas-Ud Dramani’s side has now broken a club record which has lasted for over 600 days.
Mawuli Wayo raced the Phobians into an 8th minute lead after bursting open the defence of the home side.
Wonders seemed to have successfully blocked any attacking threats from Mas-Ud Dramani’s side as the tie travelled until the 77th minute before substitute Martin Karikari netted the second goal for the Rainbow boys.
Defender Kelvin Osei Asibey converted a penalty kick won by Hamza Issah around the 76th minute to cement the victory for Hearts and moved them to second spot temporary.
Prior to yesterday’s win, Hearts had not won a game by a 3-goal margin since May 9, 2024 when they defeated Berekum Chelsea 3-0 at the Golden City Park in Berekum on matchday 29 of the 2023/24 season.
On that fateful day, Hamsa Issah, Linda Mtange, and Kassim Cisse scored the goals for Hearts in the clash.
It took exactly 625 days for the 21-time Ghana Premier League title winners to break the record.
