Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Max Praize has called for stronger promotion of gospel music, arguing that it plays a critical role in safeguarding national security.
Speaking at the 2025 Praise Achievement Awards held in Accra, Max Praize said music has a powerful influence on the human spirit and behaviour, noting that the kind of music people consume can directly affect how they think and act.
“Music doesn’t need permission to enter your spirit. Music can kill, music can raise, and music can destroy. If music enters the spirit of a man, it influences the way the person thinks, behaves and the things the person wants to do,” he stated.
According to him, promoting gospel music at a higher level could help reduce social vices and contribute to national stability. He described gospel music as one of the tools Ghana can rely on in addressing security-related challenges.
“If gospel music, actually, is promoted to another level, it can reduce a lot of things going on in the country,” he noted.
