Evangelist Mama Pat aka Nana Agradaa has received a glimmer of hope amidst her 15-year jail term at Nsawam Prison, as the High Court in Amasaman has agreed to move forward with her appeal against her conviction and sentence.

The High Court has set December 2025 for the commencement of the appeal trial, a development that has reportedly sparked jubilation among the jailed preacher’s followers.

Nana Agradaa was convicted by an Accra Circuit Court on July 3, 2025, on charges of fraud and charlatanic advertisement.

The prosecution successfully argued that the preacher had promised to double the money of her church members, convincing many to hand over huge sums of money. When she reportedly failed to double the funds or return the money, a criminal case was initiated against her.

News of the appeal’s progression broke on November 21, following a GHOne TV post detailing the situation.

According to the report, Nana Agradaa’s legal team is challenging the Circuit Court’s decision, arguing that the original trial was “flawed,” the judgment was “unreasonable,” and the presiding judge was “biased.” Her lawyers are seeking to have both the conviction and the 15-year sentence overturned completely.

Though her court appearance on November 20 was adjourned because the appeal records were not yet ready, the confirmation that the appeal is moving forward provides a significant opportunity for the televangelist to challenge her fate.

The upcoming High Court trial in December is set to be highly scrutinized, as the public watches whether the controversial figure will successfully challenge the charges stemming from the widely publicized money-doubling scheme.
