The first-ever Global Football Festival is set to take place on December 27, 2024, at the Accra Academy School astroturf.

The event promises a vibrant mix of football, music, and cultural showcases, organized by football agency Kick Nation and powered by FulLCircL MGT.

With a focus on celebrating Ghana’s rich football heritage, the festival also seeks to inspire the next generation of athletes.

During the media launch held on December 20, 2024, in Accra, Gary Al-Smith described the festival as a “fusion of football and entertainment” with the potential to “unite people, bring communities together, and honour Ghana’s vibrant football culture.”

A homecoming parade featuring Ghanaian international football stars will headline the event.

These icons will also participate in an exclusive mentorship programme, sharing insights and experiences with young aspiring footballers.

Central to the festival is an 8-team football tournament, providing a platform for young players to showcase their skills in front of top international scouts.

Baba Sadiq, Founder of FulLCircL MGT, spoke about the festival’s broader mission: “We’re connecting passions across football, music, lifestyle, and entertainment to reignite interest in the sport while creating a powerful platform to discover young talents.”

Delali Frank Awutey, International Liaison Officer, highlighted the significance of this initiative: “When you come to the festival, you’ll see items like the first jersey worn by some of our Black Star’s legends. It’s not just about showcasing history, it’s about preserving it for future generations.”

The day will culminate with live performances by some of Ghana’s top musicians, including R2Bees, Pappy Kojo, Larruso, and surprise acts.

Felix Romark of Football Impact Africa emphasized the festival’s vision, stating, “This is something for the future. We aim to create a compelling product that celebrates the passion of football while advancing conversations around sustainability in the sport.”

As the event approaches, former and current Ghanaian football stars, including MLS-based Joseph Paintsil, are confirmed to participate.
