According to Adomonline, a young lady with a promising future, 18-year-old Ama Asantewaa, was discovered dead at her house in Tema Central after being absent for several days.
Ama, who recently received 5As in the 2024 WASSCE examinations, was discovered in a rotting state inside her family’s home on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, neighbors last saw Ama on Sunday evening. Her family had gone to a funeral in another town, leaving her alone in the house.
When they returned on Wednesday, they were confronted with a foul odor emanating from one of the apartments. Upon entering, they saw Ama’s lifeless body on the floor, already rotting.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” stated her mother, Mrs. Akosua Asantewaa, sobbing uncontrollably.
“She was full of life, always studying hard, and had big dreams of becoming a doctor.”
Police officers arrived on the incident and swiftly blocked off the area for investigation.
They confirmed Ama’s murder but have yet to ascertain the specific cause of death. Preliminary studies indicate she may have been strangled, as there were markings around her neck. Her body was transported to the morgue for autopsy.
“This is a tragic incident, and we will not rest until we know who did it,” said Inspector Kwesi Boateng of the Tema Police Command.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Ama attended Tema Secondary School and worked hard to earn outstanding scores in her WASSCE exams. Her professors and classmates praised her as clever, caring, and ambitious.
She aspired to go medical school and aid the needy in her neighborhood.
Residents of Tema Central are stunned, with many clamoring for increased protection in the region.
“How can such a terrible thing happen to such a brilliant girl?” Mr. Samuel Ofori, a neighbor, said this.
“This is heartbreaking.” We need justice.
The police have begun questioning residents and following up on leads in an effort to apprehend the perpetrator.
The family is begging with authorities to make sure the killers are brought to justice.
“We have lost a precious soul,” Ama’s father, Mr. Kofi Asantewaa, stated.
“She had a bright future, and now she is gone. We need answers.
