GhanaWeb's X space will be held on September 12, 2025 GhanaWeb’s X space will be held on September 12, 2025

GhanaWeb’s Entertainment desk will today, September 12, 2025, host its weekly X Space discussion, with this week’s focus on the possible exit of DStv from Ghana and what it could mean for the Ghanaian movie industry.

The conversation, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on GhanaWeb’s official X page, will look at how DStv’s exit could affect movie production, especially since some Ghanaian filmmakers create content for Akwaaba Magic, one of DStv’s channels for Ghanaian movies and series.

Ghana-Nigeria movie collaboration lifted both industries, not just actors – Adjetey Anang

Leading the discussion will be veteran filmmaker Socrate Safo and actress Gloria Sarfo, who will be joined by other entertainment pundits and industry stakeholders.

They will share perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that could come with such a shift in the media landscape.

This edition follows last week’s session, which examined the Black Star Experience. That discussion featured Rex Omar, National Coordinator of the Black Star Experience, alongside filmmaker Socrate Safo and media personality MC Portfolio.

Since its inception, GhanaWeb’s weekly X Spaces have explored a range of entertainment topics, including the rise of skit making, the comedy industry, and reviews of award shows.

The conversations are hosted by Isaac Dadzie and Joseph Henry Mensah, with production by Alfred Kumah.
