Ghana, 03/18/2025 – The music scene is about to be ignited with the soulful melodies and heartfelt storytelling of Megx, an emerging Afro Soul and R&B artist whose sound fuses deep emotions, cultural heritage, and contemporary rhythms. Born Margaret Doe-Kortsi in the village of Ave-Dakpa in Ghana’s Volta Region, Megx is poised to make a lasting impact with her distinctive voice and powerful storytelling.
A Journey from Choirs to the Big Stage: Megx’s love for music was nurtured from childhood, singing in Sunday school choirs and later joining an acapella group at Awudome Senior High School in Tsito. It was here that she discovered her passion for performance. Despite initially doubting her ability to write music, she soon realized that her struggles could be transformed into art.
Her journey led her to Ho and later to Greater Accra in 2016, where she balanced night school with her passion for music. A pivotal moment came during Ghana’s COVID-19 lockdown when a church member recognized her talent, providing the support and encouragement she needed to take her music career to the next level.
Music That Resonates: Megx’s artistry is rooted in personal experiences that resonate with audiences far and wide. Growing up among four siblings and 14 half-siblings, she gained deep insights into themes of love, loss, resilience, and self-worth, which she now channels into her music. Her debut single, Fiesta, tells the relatable story of being in a relationship with someone who doesn’t truly appreciate you. The track blends the infectious energy of Afrobeats with the emotional depth of Afro-Soul, creating an anthem for those seeking self-love and empowerment.
Beyond the Music – A Voice for Artists: In addition to her musical aspirations, Megx is a dedicated student of Public Relations with Marketing at Ghana’s University of Media, Arts, and Communication (UniMAC). She is passionate about advocating for artists, particularly in areas of copyright education and fair creative practices. “Artists deserve to protect their work,” she emphasizes. “Music isn’t just a passion—it’s our livelihood.”
A Bright Future Ahead: With Fiesta now streaming on all major platforms, Megx is ready to share her unique sound with the world. Her vision is to create music that heals, inspires, and connects people across borders. As she embarks on this exciting journey, she invites music lovers to join her, listen to her story, and be part of the movement she is building.
