Prophet Fire Oja prophesied that the Black Stars won't qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Prophet Fire Oja prophesied that the Black Stars won’t qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

A 2024 video of Prophet Fire Oja’s prophecy that the Black Stars won’t qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has resurfaced and has gone viral on various social media platforms.

In the viral video sighted by GhanaWeb Sports, Prophet Fire Oja, the founder of the Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry, during the 31st watch night service in December 2024 said Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign in 2025 would end in failure.

Prophet Fire Oja in the video said the failure of not qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco will follow the Black Stars in the World Cup qualifying campaign because Ghana will not qualify for both tournaments.

However, the prophecy has now sparked massive reactions on various social media platforms, with many football fans mocking the prediction and celebrating the team’s achievement.

Some Ghanaians shared the video of Prophet Fire Oja’s prophecy alongside footage of jubilant Ghanaian supporters, while others called for accountability among pastors who make inaccurate public prophecies.

EXPLAINER: Why Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Comoros was not televised on local TV

The Black Stars qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico after finishing the qualifiers as leaders of Group 1.

Ghana joins the list of qualified countries on the African continent after beating Comoros at home on matchday 10 of the qualifiers to secure their ticket for the tournament.

The Black Stars defeated Comoros 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, with Kudus Mohammed scoring the only goal in the game.

After 10 matches played in group I, Ghana topped with 25 points, Madagascar second with 19 points, Mali third with 18 points, Comoros 15, Central African Republic 8 and Chad in sixth place with 1.
