Filmmaker, Kobi Rana (L) has defended Kuami Eugene (R) following social media backlash Filmmaker, Kobi Rana (L) has defended Kuami Eugene (R) following social media backlash

Ghanaian filmmaker, Robi Rana, has taken to social media to vehemently defend popular singer Kuami Eugene, following a viral video that has ignited online discussions and criticism.

The video, widely circulated across social media platforms, shows Kuami Eugene engaged in a vocal training exercise, using the popular “Pretty Little Baby” song challenge.

However, the footage quickly drew negative reactions from some netizens, who mocked the musician, labelling him as “wack” and deriding his participation in a challenge often associated with women.

In a recent Facebook post, Robi Rana came to Kuami Eugene’s defense, asserting that those criticising the musician lack a fundamental understanding of music.

He argued that the backlash against the “Angela” hitmaker is entirely unwarranted.

“If you are someone who listens and understands real global music, the current Kuami Eugene trolls will really piss you off. Herh my heart. See perfect riffs and falsetto. And the nkurasefoc reaction,” Rana wrote, expressing his frustration with the online detractors.

Rana further described Kuami Eugene as a treasure that such critics don’t deserve, lamenting what he perceived as pervasive negativity and envy within Ghanaian online discourse.

“I vex saaaaaa. Their favourites combined can never. Eugene is the treasure they don’t deserve. Ghana and Otanhunu,” he added.
